John Nixon

John Coley Nixon (d.1818) was a wealthy merchant and a topographical and satirical artist, heavily influenced by his friend Thomas Rowlandson. He lived for much of his life in London and later on the Isle of Wight. The Museum collections contain 66 original watercolours and sketches, plus engravings after Nixon.
