Description
|
A richly embroidered dalmatic from a set of vestments for High Mass (known as the Compton set) made by Sister Margaret Compton and worn for the first time at her profession in 1717. These vestments were buried in Brussells in 1794 when the Dominican community had to flee to England. They were later recovered, brought to England and came to St. Dominic's Priory, Carisbrooke.
